Chronic health challenges during COVID forced Juli to a crossroads. After years of suppressing her spiritual abilities to survive in fashion's competitive world, her body was demanding something different.

One evening, she found herself at a neighbour's rooftop book launch. Three psychics were there, she was told. "Where are they?" Juli asked, scanning the crowd. At the end of the night, someone pointed at her: "You're the third. You've got the golden crown."

Hours later, Juli bought her own deck of cards online. The next day, her neighbour knocked on her door: "I'm coming over for a reading."

That was it. The door opened, and Juli walked through.

"I realised I wasn't reading the cards... the images were just coming so clearly and fast. I was clairvoyant, and I'd spent years shutting it down."

THE GIFT OF SEEING

Juli comes from a line of spiritually aware women, though it was never openly discussed. The first time she realised her abilities weren't "normal" was in 2001, when a friend gave her Doreen Virtue's Messages from Your Angels. Reading it felt like remembering something she'd always known.

By 2009 – at the height of her fashion career - she'd been invited to Angel Camp in Hawaii. Standing on a cliff's edge, she prayed for a sign: "Please, when I get back to Australia, I do not want to make one more wedding dress. Send me something."

Her phone rang. It was Virgin Australia.

Juli made a deal with herself: if she got the contract, she'd go all in on fashion and set the spiritual work aside. It wasn't the right time. The corporate world wasn't ready for a designer who talked to angels.

She got the job. The spiritual door closed.....but only temporarily.
